Preperation for the 2018/19 Season

Leading into the start of my 6th competition season in November 2018, I wasn’t sure what to expect. After having a fair amount of time off to clear my mind after competeing at my 2nd Paralympic Games, I had a great Australian snow season, spending a lot of time free riding with mates and finding ‘the love’ back into what I do best! During that time, I started my university degree, to keep me busy until the competition season started.  Our team had a change in coaches after the Paralympic Games. Lukas Prem was my coach for 4 critical seasons going into the 2018 Paralympics, we built a relationship that allowed me to have fun, be myself and have 100% trust everyday we were together and I was enabled to progress my snowboarding abilities to levels I could not imagine. There’s always a lot of chaos and progressive change after the Paralympic Games within the sport, brand new athletes coming in and veteran athletes retiring and new rules being implemented. The biggest changes for Para Snowboarding include:

  • 4 man heats instead of 2 (meaning that 4 people are on course at the same time in a race)

  • Introduction of the boardercross team event.

    Until next time,
